The Washington State chapter of HIMSS Washington strives to provide Washington State’s healthcare professionals with outstanding educational conferences, networking opportunities, and a forum for the interchange of ideas and effective use of information technology in healthcare. What is the Washington HIMSS Chapter?
A local chapter of the Health Information and Management Systems Society focused on providing leadership in healthcare for the management of systems, technology, and information. The Chapter promotes an organized forum for continuing education and exchange of ideas amongst its members to improve healthcare information and management systems that support patient care and wellness.
The Washington chapter of HIMSS began in Seattle in 1988 as HIMSS - NW. It served not only Washington but also Oregon and British Columbia. When Oregon developed its chapter in 1999, HIMSS - NW became HIMSS Washington.
How many attendees are expected at your events?
The numbers of attendees vary depending on the subject matter of the event. Smaller events could range from 50–75 attendees and larger events could range from 200–350.
How many events do you hold annually?
At least 7 a year but our goal is to have at least one to two per month moving forward.
Does a Sponsorship assure a speaker slot?
Sponsorship does NOT convert into speaking slots, although Elite sponsorship does offer the opportunity to apply for a speaking spot. This must be submitted to obtain board approval to ensure the content and material includes experiential and relatable information for member growth and education only. Content that includes relatable experiences with other healthcare organizations is required. It is also highly suggested to co-speak with a representative from a healthcare organization who can also speak on the chosen topic.
Can I get the attendee list for past events?
Attendee lists are only provided to sponsors (as appropriate) AFTER the event. Please note that it includes a mix of name, job title, and company; but no contact information.
How do I register my attendees for an event?
You will be provided a code to register your people.
Can we get the chapter’s W-9 for taxes?
A W-9 will be sent to you along with your payment confirmation and registration instructions.
Can sponsors give away drawing items at an event?
Yes, giveaways are appreciated. We can coordinate this with larger events.
What if my company wants to pay by check?
Instructions to pay by check will be given when you apply and chose the "pay by check" option.
